I think you have a terrific voice. And I LOVE the fact that you stayed on the phone with your wife to talk her through labor and the birth of your daughter. Mike, I don't know if you read these things or not, but, I think you should really think about singing Baby I Love You, I sing it with passion as I know you are very capable of doing. Dude you can totally kill with this song I am suggesting to you. Do it dude!

Mike, if you get the opportunity to do Broadway on Idol, I'd recommend two pieces from "Fiddler on the Roof" by Topol. The first is, "Tradition" and the second is, "If I Were a Rich Man." I think you could bring the house down with either one, but your performance would entail a great deal of preparation and acting. I think you could do it and create a "moment."
