This show is great for my whole family... I love that I can expose my children to my memories of Steven Tyler and older songs being re-invented, and my children can introduce my husband and I to to new musicians and singers. We have 5 kids, ages, 22, 20, 16, and 5 year old twins. We vote by thumbs up only. My husband and I laugh hysterically at the judges funny words and actions. I prefer Randy, JLo,and Steven because they are full of love and support for the artist.. not forcing the artist to sing other genres. Coaching them on their own personal strengths. I often wonder what would have happened to past contestants had they experienced these 3 judges instead of the old judges. Look at Casey James.. the negative comments were too harsh.. I think what that young man could have really done with JLO and Steven cheering him on. He has made it anyway.. but I believe it would have been much sooner and on American Idol. So Thumbs up to the Network for the changes they have made with judges. The show is much better.

Im 16 and i turn 17 soon it would be a dream of mine to try out for american idol im in an advace chior in a verry big school, any chance next year they will come to Ohio next year? i know my best frin and i would die to have a chance for someone to just hear our voices, give us a profesional feed back even if we dont make it :)

Group night was a bore. I watch the show because I want to hear the kids SING and for one hour there was not one song all the way through. And when the groups were ready to sing the show cut off. It was a complete waste of time.

Hello everyone I am 13 years old and think I would be great for American idol. I know i am not elegable for american idol but i think i would be great for it. I feel it should give kids teen that are not old enough a chance to be heard. Does anyone know what I should do. Please comment if you know. I could really use your help thanks.
Michaela Right now, the rules say that you have to be 15 to audition. Until you are eligible, practice singing and get used to being in front of an audience.

Waste of time! Now that we have other shows to compare AI to, it is disappointing to watch them torture these kids. Skip all the drama and go straight to the individual performances. The Voice does it right! I love the judges on AI, but the producers have made a mockery of this show. It appears the producers were picked on in high school are still trying to get even with people by putting the contestants through ridiculous drama. We get that showbiz is tough, but so is real life. We want to be entertained, not tormented.

I don't really like group night we already know what's going to happen
Our family has loved Idol from the first season and we absolutely LOVE these 3 judges. HOWEVER...Last week was such a waste of time it was actually insulting to us as viewers. An entire show devoted to complaining and sick group night singers and by the end we never even saw one song or performance! We may never watch again just on the principal of pretending to have entertainment but all you have is a few people barfing in bags and pouting.

Group night is USELESS! No telling how many potential top 10 singers have gone home because either their group sucked or they could not find a group. It is a mean and sadistic part of the show. I usually do not even watch it anymore.
CUT OUT GROUP NIGHT!!! It is complete torture, and then you expect them to perform? The only benefit is that it helps you cut out a lot of people.

I really don't like the way that you are doing the show this year. I watched group night and it was all talking. I am a big fan of the show but I watch to hear people sing not talk through the whole hour. :(

I can believe that the judages sent Loran Mink home. unbelieveble !!! and this week "BIG IDEA" to make them form "GROUPS" was not smart at all. we not sure we'll watch it any more. it was silly !!!!!!!
I certainly hope there is some singing in the next show. That is after all what the show is supposed to be about!
Give the viewers a break AI, give us much less "We need a day one person" and a LOT more how these people sing. You can get rid of all the coverage of people throwing up. Just think they could be planting in our memories our first impression of the next American Idol- bent over a trash can sick as a dog!

Brian, you make a good point concerning the rigors of the vetting process on Idol, which are more intensive and complete than those utilized to select our Federal and State representatives. For those who are so bored with "Idol" this season---so put off by those nasty Group Rounds----go to "The Voice" site and post comments there. Its site is up and running.
grueling process, too bad eh that our representatives in politics are not vetted as well as this process proves who is worthy... of respect. You guys are wicked!

I just wasted an hour of my life watching this episode. I am actually mad!!! It makes me want to boycott the rest of the season. Boooorrriinnggg!!!!! I hope Idol producers pay attention to all of the comments and make changes for next season.
Waste of an episode. What was the point? And seriously, what's with all of the drama queens fainting and getting sick. I've been singing my whole life. All through college too (I sang in the same choir as our current Miss America). I couldn't believe how baby-ish everyone was acting. Do they not realize musicians have to perform ill all the time?
No, was disappointed and felt like I was led on....get on with the show, folks.
