Lil came out the total diva this week - I loved the color of the Ema Savahl dress on her, and the one-shoulder was very flattering on her. The carolynn necklace complemented the dress beautifully, and Lil certainly shined!

- Always spend money on a good pair of simple black heels...they will last you for years.
- Men, likewise, a good classic shoe (wingtips are back with a vengeance) will last for a long time, and look as good with jeans as they do a suit.
- Take care of you shoes...polish them regularly.
- Wash jeans every 12 wears, unless you get 'em filthy!
- Buy clothes that fit...too tight or too baggy is not a good look...and you'll get more dates this way...I promise!
- A sad truth...in general, expensive clothes are better cut and made...buy the best you can afford.

Born near Liverpool in the swinging sixties, Miles first flirt with fashion was during the Queens Silver Jubilee in 1977, the birth of punk rock in England. The d.i.y. ethic of bands like the Sex Pistols was to stay with him throughout his career. Miles moved to the states in 1994 to start a career in styling, working more directly with celebrities and got the american idol season 2 gig after a producer friend suggested he meet Ken Warwick, one of the executive producers. It turned out they were born 2 miles apart, which sealed the deal -- the rest, as they say, is television history.
