The show started with scenes from the Top 5 Frank Sinatra performances, along with 5 silhouettes. Who's the mobster? Oh, it's just the silhouette of Michael Lynche in a fedora. Ryan Seacrest took the stage wearing what he wears every night. After wishing us a happy Cinco de Mayo, he revealed that 32 million votes were counted. Americans either have a lot of passion or too much time on their hands.

Tonight, Randy is dressed in orange, Ellen threw down some hand signs, Kara waves her arm like a lasso, and Simon is wearing a 2-in-1 vest with a sweater that has a v-neck that reaches his belly button. Luckily, he's wearing an undershirt tonight.

The four guys were clad in tuxedos and started the show off with a group performance of "Lady Is A Tramp," and then out walked Crystal Bowersox in a tuxedo with tails and a cumberbund. They also sang "It Was A Very Good Year," "I've Got The World On A String," "Night And Day," and practically the rest of the Sinatra catalog. Casey James showed more charisma than usual during this performance. Where was that charisma yesterday, Casey?!

Since it's Top 5, I suspected that Ryan Seacrest would divide the finalists into two groups of two, and he'd make the sweetest one, I'm guessing Aaron Kelly, predict what group he's in. But before we got to the results, Ryan gave a big build up for this week's Ford music video. Next, we saw video footage of the finalists' hectic Tuesdays, and what the Top 5 used to spend their Tuesdays doing: Aaron was at school, Crystal changed diapers and learned her ABCs (she should already know those!), Michael trained clients at the gym and worked on his biceps, and Lee was at the paint shop. We saw Lee waking up in the Idol apartments without his boy Andrew Garcia by his side. Then, we saw little Aaron wake up in a tank top. I always figured he slept in a onesie with the feet attached. When we saw footage of Crystal's and Mike's babies, it hit me how deep into this competition we are -- these kids are getting huge! Casey said that every Tuesday he gets is the best day of his life.

Ryan asked for the lights to dim, and the audience was already saying "awwwww." The host joked that it shouldn't be a surprise that the results show was going to have results. Well, after 20 minutes of video packages and filler, I was starting to believe that would be the case! Mr. Seacrest called Lee DeWyze to the center of the stage. The crowd went wild, and Lee cracked a nervous smile. Ryan interviews Lee for a while, and then tells him he's safe, but this week, safety is on a stool. You can't make such drastic changes this late in the game! Cut to commercial, and the lady judges have already hopped out of their chairs. Perhaps craft services is serving up some Cinco de Mayo chips and salsa.

The always entertaining Lady Gaga took the stage to perform "Alejandro," which was perfect for Cinco de Mayo. She started the performance with "Bad Romance" on the piano. Of course there were props like crazy, trees, and dancers in spandex shorts. Lady Gaga was in full Gaga regalia, which included some mesh nets and lace.

When we came back from commercial, the judges were running to their seats and were out of breath. Why does Ryan stand right there to introduce the show? Since there are so few contestants left and there's one hour to fill, we got another clips package. This one was of Harry Connick Jr.'s humorous approach to mentoring. We saw some really great clips: Aaron just standing there and being told to wipe the smile off his face, a stare down with Lee, cranks calls to Casey's mom, and more. We also were educated: the word "pitchy" doesn't exist, so the judges need to start saying "out of tune." Then Harry took the stage to sing "And I Love Her" with his band. Kara stood up to applaud and I noticed she was casual in a pair of cropped and ripped light jeans. She was only planning on being shot above the table, but that all went out the window with her standing ovation. Then, Harry took over as emcee - watch your back Seacrest! - and invited the finalists back to the stage to perform a medley of Harry Connick Jr. songs including "We Are In Love," "Come By Me," and "Hear Me In The Harmony." I noticed that Lee is now holding his mic the way that Aaron does, interlaced between his fingers. After the performances, Harry gave a long speech about meeting Mr. Sinatra...gotta fill that one hour!

It was time for the rest of the results. Ryan put Crystal Bowersox and Casey James on the far side of the stage, and Michael Lynche and Aaron Kelly on the near side of the stage. What does this mean; you're killin' me, Seacrest?! He asked Lee if he wanted to stand next to the group that's safe, and of course Lee didn't play along with Ryan's games. After all that, we found out that Crystal and Casey were safe. Michael and Aaron were in the bottom two, and it was Aaron Kelly who was eliminated. Papa Lynche wrapped his Yoda in his arms and whispered in his ear. I was expecting him to bench press Aaron again, but instead, Aaron took the microphone and ended the night with "Fly Me To The Moon." I guess he sang the Sinatra song again because Harry Connick Jr. and his band were still on the stage with their instruments.

Well, Aaron, it's been a great ride and you're as sweet as can be! Next week, Casey, Crystal, Lee, and Michael take on Songs from the Movies with Jamie Foxx. For those of you who didn't watch last season, Jamie was a fab mentor!
