This will be a very short recap tonight for a very short show.

It began with the usual introductions and a recap of last night's erformances, followed by the contestants doing a medley of Diana Ross and The Supremes top hits. Some quick observations: Was that Katharine McPhee prancing around the stage...no it was Haley. Wow...the stylists have got her in their hands now. Jordin and Stephanie have really cute outfits.

Time for the results....Lakisha and Gina are safe. Brandon is in the bottom three. Jordin, Chris Richardson, and Melinda are safe. Phil is in the bottom three. Chris Sligh, Stephanie and Blake are safe, which leaves us guessing about Sanjaya and Haley.

Ryan then gives us the AI Challenge question: Which former Idol did Simon predict would sell the most records: Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood or Taylor Hicks?

Next is our guest performer--Billboard's entertainer of the century, Diana Ross. The curtain parts and a super star makes an entrance...That's how it's done! She is here to entertain....sexy, long, form-fitting red dress with layers and layers of matching chiffon draped around her body, and chandelier earrings to match. Singing "I Love You," she has the IT factor from her ying to her yang. I hope you were watching, ladies, because when Diana tells you to do it sexy, that is what she means.

Ryan chats with Diana about her upcoming tour and asks her who is going home tonight. She replies "Me!" What a very gracious answer!

Sanjaya and Haley are brought forward, and Haley is told she is safe.

The bottom three consisted of Sanjaya, Phil and Brandon. They step forward and Ryan quickly tells Phil he can sit down. He is safe. At this point, I was guessing that Brandon forgetting the lyrics last night has done him in....and, sadly, I am right. Sanjaya gets a better reception from the others tonight than last week, and I am glad. He needs their support. He may be around for another week or two. A clip of Brandon's auditions are shown, and the show ends right after that. Good luck with the solo career, Brandon. You've had a tremendous experience and a lot of people now know your face, your voice, and your name. Make good use of it and we will see your CD's around.
