It's sudden death round two for our second group of ladies. The Vegas vixens have to bring everything they have to the stage tonight as 10 become 5 on our journey to crowning the next AMERICAN IDOL!

First up was 19-year-old Melinda Ademi performing "Nobody's Perfect." While Keith noted her "raw potential", the panel, as a whole, thought that her performance was a less-than-perfect, so-so, attempt to make it to the Top 20. Melinda was followed by Candice Glover, who was cut last year in Vegas. The 23-year-old sang "Natural Woman" by Aretha Franklin. Her big voice fit Dame Aretha's big shoes, as Keith loved it and Nicki called her one of the "strongest in the competition."

Guitar in hand, next up was 15-year-old Juliana Chahayed singing "Skyscraper" by Demi Lovato. The young IDOL gave it her all, but the judges noted her nervousness, and timidity. But Mariah loved her "angelic quality." Will she make it? At this point, Heaven knows! Cheap comedy? You try doing the Insider's job!

Seattle native, Jett Hermano played piano on "Only Girl in the World" by Rhianna. Despite her effort, the judges thought the song was a bit tame and Nicki and Randy wanted more from her performance. Nicki said she "missed her climax." Relax lawyers. The Insider will not button that joke.

San Antonio gospel pro, Cristabel Clack earned herself a standing ovation with her "raspy" version of "No One." Keith thought she was "soul, croaky, cool" and the other judges were complimentary, but who knows if that rasp rocked it enough to avoid rejection. Next up was 19-year-old Aubrey Cleland. Aubrey gave us "Sweet Dreams" by Beyonce. She may have tossed her veterinary dreams away for IDOL fame, but, while the panel liked her performance, the Dawg felt that the song was maybe not big enough to earn her a place in the next round.

Oh, by the way, did you see those incredibly cool, dynamic lower third graphics where your tweets to our questions were coming in live and in real-time? Take THAT!, you less dynamic singing competition shows! Back to the stage!

Rachel Hale brought the power of prayer to "Nothing But the Water" by Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. Chances are she has a direct line to the big man upstairs since she killed it! Nicki loved her "crazy confidence" and Rachel was probably the 48th contestant to earn L'il Lady Bug status. Rachel was followed by Louisiana native, Breanna Steer singing "Bust Your Windows" by Jazmine Sullivan. Randy loved the song choice of his fellow Louisianan, said she was ready for a record deal, and Nicki said Breanna was "sex on a stick." I don't recall those being offered at the county fair, but maybe Nicki was being a tad less literal?

Our country gal, Janelle Arthur then gave us "Just a Kiss" by Lady Antebellum. Per the panel, bad song choice for Lady J and Nicki noted that she shouldn't "try so hard" and lose her natural qualities that brought her this far. And then, this happened.

By now, when I say "this," you know, the Insider is talking about the force-of-nature, the life-eating Liberian, the zesty Z, Ms. Zoanette Johnson! Okay, no drums this time. Uh, this time, Zoanette sported a gigantic, yellow mane and leopard pants and performed "Circle of Life" from The Lion King. Z was in the Zone! Keith called her the "Queen of the Jungle," Nicki noted that she "just served it" and it was a standing Oh! For Lady Simba. And then sobbing ensued.

Ten took the stage. But only five can go on to the final 20. In the end, it was goodbye to all but Janelle, Aubrey, Candice, Breanna, and, wait for it, wait for it, Zoanette! So we know our final 10 females. Tomorrow night, it's another 10 boys and we crown our Top 20 for Season 12 of AMERICAN IDOL!
