There were four contestants left in the competition. Who would be in the bottom three? Not Dexter Roberts, who earned a spot for another week.

Ryan wasted no time in revealing the contestant who received the lowest number of America's votes. It was Majesty Rose who had been in the bottom three for three weeks in a row! "I knew it!" she exclaimed after the announcement.

Majesty chose to perform "Happy" by Pharell Williams as her save me song. She cheerfully took the microphone from Ryan Seacrest and gave an upbeat and positive performance of the Oscar nominated song.

As Majesty was shedding a few errant tears Keith addressed her directly. The judges would not use their save on her, but Keith admitted that is was the "hardest deliberation" they've had to date, adding that they decided to not use the save by a "narrow, narrow margin." Tough luck, Majesty. We know you'll go far.

That put Majesty Rose, Sam Woolf and C.J. Roberts as the bottom three. Harry wasn't surprised at the contestants saying, "America is really, really smart." He went on to add that all the voting has been seemingly purely based on the week's performances and nothing else.

As the Top 9 awaited their fates, Randy Jackson weighed in on the previous night's performances. Randy put Caleb Johnson, Malaya Watson and Jena Irene as the top three of the night. "The cream is starting to rise to the top," he said. "The other six? Time to catch up!" You can count on Randy Jackson to always tell it like it is!

Janelle Monáe may only be 28 years old, but this talented artist already has six Grammy nominations under her belt.

The contestants hit the stage Wednesday singing hits from super-star bands. Now the results of their efforts were revealed. The show gave us glimpses of the contestants after their performances and all of them seemed to think they gave an "awesome show" for the judges and the audience. It would all come down to America's vote.

The next contestant destined to remain another week on AMERICAN IDOL®? Jessica Meuse

Ryan revealed the results a bit differently from previous episodes. The safe contestants were revealed to America one by one on the big screen. The first contestant named safe? Michigan's own Jena Irene.

Janelle Monáe performed "This Is Love" her new single off the Rio 2 soundtrack.

After Janelle Monáe's enthusiastic performance Ryan got right back to results naming Alex Preston as safe for this week.

This week IDOL™ results show moved to a new 30 minute, jam-packed format that included a performance from rising star Janelle Monáe.

Malaya Watson's performance of "The Long And Winding Road" earned her the second safe spot of the night.

Before the remaining results were revealed Grammy nominated artist Janelle Monáe took the stage to perform.

Rocker Caleb Johnson was named safe.

"What Is Love" was just released on iTunes this week. Be sure to check it out!
