Before Ryan got down to business revealing the results of America's vote, we got a chance to see the contestants having dinner. They made a toast to "being friends forever" and wished that no one would have to leave the competition. Too bad, finalists! That's just part of the competition.

Jake performed his song "Me And You" and the audience ate it up! Keith believes everything about Jake is "killer," noting his "killer" performance and saying that his new album "Shangri La" is a "killer album, top to bottom." What'd you think of up-and-comer Jake Bugg?

After Jake's performance C.J., Kristen, Caleb, Jessica and Emily were the last contestants to hear their results. Randy said his piece first noting that C.J. needs to bring his "consistency up so he's great every week," while praising Kristen's "pretty good performance." Randy thought Caleb's Top 13 performance continually shows his authenticity and noted the Emily's effort was good, but failed to show "edge."

After a short deliberation, Harry announced that the judges failed to reach an unanimous decision and Kristen O'Connor was eliminated. Kristen's great personality shined after the news saying she was "grateful" for the experience and had "learned so much" during her time on IDOL™. Good luck, Kristen! Don't miss the Top 12 compete WED 8/7c on FOX!

AMERICAN IDOL® takes great pride in fostering up-and-coming talent. This season, Randy and the judges will be bringing in a vareity of rising young stars to perform live on the results show. Keith chose Jake Bugg, a new artist from England, that he called "the real deal" as the first talent to showcase for America.

It turned out that Kristen received the lowest number of votes. She'd have to sing her heart out to tempt the judges to use their one save of the season. Kristen chose to reprise her Rush Week performance of "Turning Tables" by Adele. Remember, the judges' decision had to be unanimous in order to use the save.

Ryan immediately announced that Kristen was the third contestant in the bottom three. Who was in danger of elimination, though? When Harry asked his opinion on the bottom three he noted that the results were both "surprising and not surprising." Ryan then revealed MK Nobilette was safe. It came down to Malaya and Kristen. Kristen said if she got another chance she'd "try and be more myself," while Malaya noted that she would "calm down" a little if given the shot.

Ryan called Malaya, Jena, Ben and Alex to the stage for the first round of results. Randy gave us a rundown of their live performances before the placements were revealed. Randy thought Malaya's performance "got the best of her," and said that Jena did "a very good job." Randy thought Ben's performance was a "little too fast," but still thought he was able to put his own spin on the song. Randy had the most praise for Alex saying, "I loved the subtleness of this performance." America agreed with Randy. Alex, Ben and Jena were sent to safety and Malaya was revealed to be in the bottom three. Jennifer was "not happy" with the results.

Candice was completely at ease on stage commanding the audience with her immense talent. Candice's debut album, "Music Speaks" dropped last week and has already risen to No. 3 on the R&B charts! Congratulations, Candice!

The reigning AMERICAN IDOL® champ Candice Glover returned for her first guest performance on the show! Candice performed a medley of two of her songs, "Cried" and "Same Kinda Man."

71 million votes were cast in the battle to reach the Top 12 on Wednesday night! Who was in danger of elimination? The results were revealed throughout the night, but first the Top 13 opened the show performing a mash-up of the Imagine Dragons' hit, "Radioactive" and OneRepublic's "Counting Stars."

MK, Sam, Majesty and Dexter were the next contestants called to the stage to hear the results from the previous night. Randy noted that MK did "well" in her performance, but needs to get moving more. Randy praised Sam's voice, but noted that he needed to get his "performance to match his vocal power." He called Majesty's performance "fantastic," while noting that Dexter's effort wasn't his best performance. America's voted kept Sam, Majesty and Dexter safe. MK headed to the bottom three and was in danger of elimination. Keith noted that if MK was lucky enough to stay in the competition she need to work on her "emotional connection" to the song and the audience.
