Caleb Johnson performed his coronation song, "As Long As You Love Me."

Dim the Lights, here were go! The last of results of the season named Caleb Johnson as your American Idol.

Congratulations, Caleb Johnson! YOU are the next American Idol!

The race was too close to call between Jena Irene and Caleb Johnson! Who would take the IDOL crown?

There is one question that remains about Caleb's epic performance with KISS? Why didn't Caleb join in on the fun by wearing KISS' iconic makeup?

Caleb fit right in with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame act.

Caleb's brother even got into the fun by making himself up as a member of the band!

Caleb began a performance of KISS' "Love Gun" before being joined on stage by the iconic band.

Caleb and Jena ended their opening number with "It's Only Love" by Bryan Adams and Tina Turner.

The votes have been cast, but at the top of the show the performers had two more hours to wait until they'd know who took the title of American Idol.

The opening performances from our two finalists showcased everything we've come to expect from the talented pair as they delivered a medley of "We Will Rock You" by Queen and "Just A Girl" by No Doubt.

As Ryan introduced the two finalists, our stoic judge Harry Connick Jr. got to his feet for the first time this season! Now that the competition is officially over, Harry could let loose and enjoy all the celebratory performances.

This is what the entire season has been building to: The crowning of the next American Idol. Before that could happen though we were treated to outstanding performances from music legends and our finalists from the season!

"As Long As You Love Me" had everything we've come to expect from a Caleb Performance. It had big moments and some emotional places where Caleb could really stand out. This battle really would be too close to call!

With the ending of Caleb's performance the fate of our final two was firmly put into America's hands. The winner will be revealed Wednesday in a special finale show featuring performances from Demi Lovato, Darius Rucker, Phillip Phillips, John Legend, Paramore and KISS to name just a few!

After Caleb's performance of "Maybe I'm Amazed" Keith urged him not to "lose what the song is about" by getting caught up in the vocal aspects of the song. Jennifer thought his performance required "more heart," and Harry bemoaned the fate of America by having to choose between our talented Top 2.

Jennifer thought that Caleb left "it all out there" and "sounded good," While both Keith and Harry noted how close the race would be between Caleb and Jena. "You're like Joe Fraiser. Jena is Mohammad Ali," said Harry. "I'm dying to see what happens tomorrow night," exclaimed Keith.

Caleb closed the show performing what would be his coronation song, "As Long As You Love Me."

He gave a standout performance of the song earlier in the season and chose to show his range with a more emotional effort. This performance was just as emotional for our talented rocker.

"That's what you got to do!" Jennifer Lopez said, adding that Caleb should thank Mr. Simon Fuller for such a perfect song choice. Harry thought the performance was "phenomenal," and Keith said Caleb had him from the "opening phrase" of the song.

Caleb Johnson surprised the judges and audience alike when he chose Paul McCartney's "Maybe I'm Amazed" for his reprisal performance.

Before the second round Caleb and Jena poked fun by doing impressions of each other!

"Dream On" was a perfect song choice for Caleb Johnson. He was up to his normal antics gyrating on stage like a rock god of old. He even got way up into his upper register in a way only former Idol judge Steven Tyler can appreciate.

Simon Fuller picked the classic "Dream On" by Aerosmith for Caleb's first performance.

Before the battle commenced Caleb and Jena took a moment to reflect on the gravity of the moment. "This is absolutely incredible," said Caleb. "I never thought I would be at this stage in the competition," exclaimed Jena.

Finally at the end of the show we got down to the nitty gritty as Ryan Seacrest prepared to announce the Top 2!

Tune in to the AMERICAN IDOL® finale next week as Jena and Caleb duke it out in the finale on TUE and WED 8/7c on FOX!

Jena Irene was announced as the first contestant to compete in the finale!

Caleb Johnson got the other spot in the finale! He'll be competing with Jena for the IDOL™ crown!

Caleb, with his big little brother on stage next to him, got the rather incredible news that he'll be performing with the legendary band KISS at the finale! While Caleb looked thrilled at the news, his little brother was even more excited!

Caleb was the last contestant Ryan brought up. Caleb rocked his hometown visit just like he rocks the IDOL™ stage each week.

This is it! Tonight is the night we learned who will be performing in the Season XIII finale! Alex, Caleb and Jena left it all out on the stage Wednesday night, but only two people would be moving on to the finale and a shot at the IDOL™ crown.

Keith commented on Caleb's superior vocals amidst vocal problems. "If ever there was a complete moment of miraculous healing that would've been it." Jennifer called the performance and "Idol moment," and Harry called the performance "absolutely fantastic."

The third round consisted of songs chosen for the contestants by their hometowns. All the songs chosen were songs that have been performed previously on the show. Caleb's hometown chose him to reprise his performance of "Dazed and Confused" by Led Zepplin. Caleb nailed the performance earlier in the season and this time as well. At the close of the song the audience broke out into a chant of "Caleb, Caleb, Caleb!"

Keith praised how well Caleb was working through his vocal issues, while Jennifer urged Caleb to sing the emotions of the song and not focus on the notes as much tonight.

Caleb started the second round with the judges' pick "Demons" by Imagine Dragons. The modern rock song seemed like a perfect fit for our budding rock star. Caleb delivered the goods as usual, perhaps a little less energetic than in the past.

Randy chose "Pompeii" by Bastille for Alex Preston. Randy chose the song hoping it would be the type of upbeat number he could perform in his own concerts one day. Alex showed a lot of range during his performance and even took a turn on the drums! It was nice to see something different from our intimate performer.

Caleb Johnson was up first performing "Never Tear Us Apart" by INXS. Randy chose the song hoping it would showcase what type of artist Caleb could grow to be.

Fresh off a whirlwind weekend of hometown visits, each contestant returned triumphant heroes. Now they're back and are ready to impress America. Caleb lost his voice over the weekend to bronchitis so he spoke little during the episode.

Despite Caleb's sore throat, the rocker performed admirably scoring a multitude of applause from the crowd. Keith said it was "a great song" for Caleb and Jennifer said "You on your worst night are better than some people on their best night." Harry thought it was an "interesting" song choice and urged Caleb not to hurt himself during the course of his performances.

Caleb lead the charge again for the Makeup song portion of the night performing "Baby I'm Amazed" by Paul McCartney. He's single, ladies. Go get him!

"It was so nice to hear you sing softly," said Harry. "That was absolutely phenomenal." Keith thought his performance was "killer." Jennifer gave Caleb the most praise saying, "You singing that was probably your best performance since the beginning."

The Top 4 performed three songs each this week all in dedication to love! Round one was a break-up song, round two was a dedication song and round three was a make-up song. With only two weeks until the finale the contestants would have to pull out all of the stops!

We moved to the dedication song portion of the night. Caleb took to the stage to perform "Travelin' Band" by Creedence Clearwater Revival which he dedicated to his original band now in Nashville, TN.

"Caleb, What can we say," said Jennifer Lopez. "That's so in your wheelhouse." "Great job, it was fantastic," said Harry. Keith echoed his fellow judges' sentiments saying, "It was cool man, excellent."

Caleb performed "You Give Love A Bad Name" by Bon Jovi for his breakup song performance.

Keith thought Caleb's performance was "Killer, man." Jennifer said she always feels like she's at "a rock concert" when she listens to his performances. Harry said the performance was "fantastic" and a great way to start the show.
