On May 1, pop singing sensation and former American Idol finalist, Kimberley Locke, released her second album, Based on a True Story on Curb Records.

Based on a True Story features the hit, Change, which is currently at #11 on Billboards Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks chart and #12 on the Hot Dance Club Play chart. Kimberleys smooth vocals and enviable range shine on the album, which has been garnering great responses from the public and press alike. Cosmopolitan calls Based on a True Story a perfect mix of pop (Any Which Way), rock (Trust Myself), and R & B (Supawoman). Locke co-wrote eight new songs for the diverse set, which features collaborations with some of the hottest names in music today, including Danielle Brisbois, Matthew Gerrard, Denise Rich, Ty Lacy and Dennis Matkosky. The music video for Change has also just been added into rotation by Vh1 and you can also watch it also on Americanidol.com.

Kimberley landed in 3rd place on the second season of American Idol. Alongside winner Ruben Studdard and Clay Aiken, Locke was the last-girl-standing.

Following her American Idol success, Kimberley went on to release her debut CD, One Love in 2004. One Love produced the #1 hit, 8th World Wonder and established Kimberley as a bonafide star. Kimberley also kept busy with touring and other recordings including her versions of the Christmas classics Jingle Bells and Up on the Housetop, both of which became #1 Billboard hits.
