Happy Birthday, David Cook!
America’s seventh Idol, David Cook, turns 28 today. In honor of David's special day, fans are donating $28 to Race for Hope page. Last year, fans raised more than $12,000 in one day—talk about a great gift! David returns to the Annual Race for Hope on May 1, 2011 in Washington, DC for his third year to help raise awareness and funding to benefit the brain tumor community. The Race for Hope is in its 14th year and David's team is looking to become the top fundraising team for the third time in a row. Last year the team contributed an impressive $152,306.74!
The new year is shaping up to be a great one for the Idol champion. He has been working hard on a new album, which will release in early 2011. David also has plans to embark on a tour to promote the new music. David’s self-titled album was certified Platinum by the RIAA and includes the popular singles “Light On,” “Come Back To Me,” and his Idol anthem “Time of My Life.” Billboard’s 2009 Year End Chart had David Cook as the #4 Top Rock Album. David returned to the Idol stage last season to perform “Jumpin’ Jack Flash” in honor of Season 9’s Rolling Stones Week.
Recently, the American Idol crew traveled to David’s hometown in honor of Idol’s upcoming 10th season. Watch David’s “Welcome Home” video.
