Happy Birthday, Blake Lewis!
Season 6 runner-up Blake Lewis turns 29 today! The beatboxer was one of the first Idol finalists to really change up the songs and make them his own. Blake also sang modern songs when given the option. He only landed in the bottom once before coming in second place.
Blake’s debut album, Audio Day Dream, hit the Billboard album charts at #10 and has since sold over 350,000 units to date. One year ago today, Blake released his first single off his sophomore album: “Sad Song” off Heartbreak On Vinyl. The album performed well on the Dance/Electronic Albums Billboard charts, and Blake had a #1 spot on the Billboard charts in April when his single “Heartbreak On Vinyl” topped the Hot Dance Club Play chart. Recently, Blake announced some more good news: a special edition of Heartbreak On Vinyl. The new release will include 500 copies pressed in red vinyl that are hand-numbered and signed by Blake. This Limited Edition Double LP includes 13 remixes, an unreleased remix of “‘Til We See The Sun,” and a membership to Blake’s Official Site. All of this will be available on August 3rd, but you can preorder it now on Blake’s official website.
The singer is spending his 29th birthday in Ibiza. Happy Birthday, Blake!
