Some of the most popular American Idol finalists are having success this summer with their latest singles.

Adam Lambert’s song “If I Had You” is #1 on VH1’s Top 20 Countdown. The Season 8 runner-up’s single originally debuted at #20, then jumped ten spots the second week. “If I Had You” increased another 32% in sales this week. His song sold 19,000 copies in the past week, which puts the song at 74,000 copies sold total.

Newlywed Carrie Underwood’s song “Undo It” had the most-played song of any American Idol alumnus last week, according to Mediabase.  Adam Lambert originally held the top slot with his song “Whataya Want From Me.” The song also passed the half-million milestone last week for downloads, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Season 8’s American Idol, Kris Allen, is quickly approaching the 1.5 million mark for “Live Like We’re Dying.” The song - his debut single - is still a popular hit. Just two weeks ago, it charted at #1 on the Billboard charts again.

Season 5 winner Taylor Hicks has a new single, “SOS (Save My Body, Save My Soul).” Proceeds from the single will benefit SOS Children’s Village, which works with abandoned and homeless children. The single is now available for purchase. Taylor is scheduled to perform the song at the “Around the World Kickoff Concert” for SOS Children’s Villages on September 26, 2010 in Philadelphia.
