Exclusive Interview with Anthony Fedorov
Season 4 Idol finalist Anthony Fedorov is performing in Show Hope’s one-time only “Cinderella In Concert,” which will take place on May 14th in Nashville, Tennessee. We talked to Anthony to find out more about the show, what he’s been up to recently, and what’s next for the Idol alumnus.
Anthony’s music producer, Adam Anders (who is also a songwriter, a bass player, and the Music Producer for FOX’s Glee), knows people at the Show Hope Foundation, which is how Anthony got involved. “It’s a great opportunity and a great cause,” Anthony said. “And on top of it all, it’s a phenomenal cast of performers. I’ll be playing the part of Christopher, the Prince.” Show Hope raises awareness and funds for orphans in distress.
The last time we caught up with Anthony, he was about to play the part of Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Anthony described his experience with Joseph as “great for me because this Washington production of Joseph was the second one I was a part of, and I had the time of my life. The cast was phenomenal.”
Is the musical theater route the one Anthony plans on continuing down? “I would definitely love to pursue a music career while pursuing a musical theater career. My plans are to work in both fields.” Sounds good to us!
Anthony has tuned in for some of Season 9, and his advice to the contestants is “to be yourself. Don’t over think it or try to come up with a special formula. Everything should come from the heart. When I was a contestant I would over think everything and it got me away from what I love most, which is music. Choose a song that speaks to you; then the judges will love it too.”
What’s next for the fourth place finalist of the fourth season of Idol? “Right now I’m concentrating on the ‘Cinderella’ performance in May. Then I’ll star in another production of Joseph at North Shore Theatre. In July and August, I plan on writing and recording music and continue working on my next record. I can’t wait to finalize it,” Anthony stated.
To Anthony’s fans, he’d like to say, “Thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting me. I have the most incredible fans. Without your support I couldn’t do what I do. I’m pushing to put out wonderful music for all of you.” If you want to give back for Anthony, he encourages you to check out the Sarcoma Foundation, which encourages awareness of sarcoma cancers. He will be performing at a fundraising gala for the cause on April 26th.
