Hope for Haiti on FOX Tonight
On January 12, 2010, Haiti was hit by an earthquake that has caused mass devastation to the Caribbean nation. As a result, broadcast and cable networks will join forces tonight to simulcast an earthquake relief global telethon for Haiti.
Tune in to FOX on January 22 at 8/7c for “Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief.” Some of the greatest musicians around will perform at the benefit concert, which will be broadcast from New York, London, Los Angeles, and Haiti. One of the superstars performing in New York is American Idol’s own Jennifer Hudson. In addition, Season 5 runner-up Katharine McPhee will make an appearance at the Los Angeles event. Season 7 runner-up David Archuleta tweeted that he will be answering phones at the event to take pledges.
"Hope for Haiti Now," will benefit Oxfam America, Partners in Health, the Red Cross, UNICEF, United Nations World Food Programme, Yele Haiti Foundation and the newly formed Clinton Bush Haiti Foundation. Proceeds from "Hope for Haiti Now" will be split among each organization's individual funds for Haiti earthquake relief.
