Season 7 Idol finalist Carly Smithson and her band, We Are the Fallen, have been signed to a record label. The band includes Evanescence members Ben Moody (guitar), John LeCompt (guitar), and Rocky Gray (drums), and Distubed and Static-X bassist Mary O'Brien.

We Are the Fallen is currently recording their debut album in Los Angeles and they plan on an early 2010 release. The band members are excited about their record deal. Ben stated, "We cannot wait to unleash our creativity in the new year." Carly added, "The chemistry in this band has made for some incredible music. We are all so grateful for this amazing opportunity and thank our fans for the strong love and support they are already showing us in this early stage."
