Season 8's ninth place finisher, Megan Joy, is currently on tour around the country with the Top 10 Idols. We caught up with Megan Joy to find out what life is like on the road, if she is planning on getting any American Idol inspired tattoos, and what her fans are like.

Megan is having a wonderful time on the Idols tour. "I love my set and the seven minutes that I'm on stage." Most of all, Megan said, "I love being on the bus with Allison and Lil. We have so much fun." They occupy their time with dance parties, watching movies, and making up raps. Perhaps Megan, Lil, and Allison should collaborate and release a rap album!

When we saw Megan perform at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, two interesting things happened to her. First, the microphone popped her on the mouth. Then, Megan got food poisoning half way through the show and couldn't come out for the finale because she was taken to the hospital. Megan jokes that the L.A. show was "The best night ever," but also said that "fortunately, nothing else has been quite that ridiculous on tour."

Megan tries to see her young son whenever possible while she's touring around. She saw him recently while she performed in New York and will see him again in a couple of weeks. Although Megan misses him very much, she said "This is all he knows so far, and he's a happy boy. His father is taking good care of him."

When we caught up with Megan before the tour, she mentioned that she would love to sing kids music and do cartoon voices among other things. One of the American Idol Twitter followers suggested that Megan should sing "Rockin' Robin" on Yo Gabba Gabba. Megan said it would be great to perform on Yo Gabba Gabba. She also said that after the tour, "modeling and television work look likely to happen. I also plan to start a band."

While on tour, Megan has had the opportunity to meet some of her fans. "I have the most amazing fans. They have given me gifts, and some fans even bought presents for my son. My fans are pretty mellow and sweet. One even gave me a Yo Gabba Gabba jacket that says 'Don't Bite Your Friends.' I love it."

During Season 8, Megan became known for her signature twisty dance moves and "Caw" cry. People are always approaching her about both of those these days. "If I don't dance like that on stage they ask why I didn't do it. It has become my signature move. I didn't know how to perform when I started this journey, and was unaware of my dancing at first, but it's now my trademark."

Megan has several tattoos. She is going to get one that was inspired by her American Idol experience. "During the whole American Idol process I wore a lucky ring that says 'fly lightly.' I'm going to get that tattooed on my ribs."

Currently, the Season 9 hopefuls are going through the audition process. Megan's advice is "don't pay attention to other contestants. Chances are you'll think they're all better than you and it can mess with your head. Focus on yourself. You can only do your best."

To all of Megan's fans, she'd like to say, "I love you. You're the best. Thank you so much for all that you've done."
