On August 14, Carrie Underwood will headline the Salute to the Troops Concert for the soldiers and families of Fort Campbell, KY. Their 101st Airborne Division is returning from their service in the Middle East. The show is one of only a handful of live performances Underwood is doing this summer as she gets ready to release her new album later this year. This special event offers a wonderful opportunity for Carrie to celebrate our military once again, as she did on a 2006 USO holiday tour in Kuwait and Iraq.

The August 14 show will also feature RCA Nashville recording artist Jake Owen as part of two nights of star-studed multi-artist concerts taking place during the Week of the Eagles, presented by Fort Campbell's Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) in partnership with Cumulus Broadcasting. The event-filled biannual celebration runs from August 14 - 20 and pays tribute to the Screaming Eagles of the 101st Airborne Division. For a complete schedule of events, visit www.fortcampbellmwr.com, and click on the Week of teh Eagles button on the homepage. While honoring veterans, troops, and their families, the Week of teh Eagles is also free and open to the publice. In observance of post protocol, all visitors will be required to present valid photo ID and will need to show current registartion and proof of insurance for any vehicle admitted.

The Season 4 winner will release her third album on Tuesday, November 3, 2009. The first single from the still unnamed album is expected to hit the radio in late summer. Carrie is collaborating on the album with Mark Bright, who produced her 2007 sophomore album, "Carnival Ride," and seven tracks from her 2005 debut album, "Some Hearts." Between Carrie's first two records, she has already sold 10 million albums. Earlier this year, she became the first country artist and only Idol winner to have 10 #1 singles from her first two albums. Forbes.com recently named Carrie Underwood the top-earning contestant from American Idol, with an estimated $14 million in earnings last year. She was also ranked by Forbes as #75 on the 2009 Celebrity 100 list. In April, Carrie became the seventh female country artist to win the Academy of Country Music's top award- Entertainer of the Year. Carrie also makes time for charity. She is involved with a public campaign for the nonprofit organization of Teachers Count.
