Justin Guarini has been very busy and has accomplished a lot since becoming American Idol's first runner-up. He hosts, sings, writes, blogs, and acts, and recently he wrote a song that he hopes will make it onto the "New Moon" movie and soundtrack. I caught up with Justin to find out more about the song and life after American Idol.

The song, entitled "I Can't Live," was inspired by the "Twilight series. Justin and his co-writers, Tammy Hyler and Shaye Smith, were talking about the series while working on Justin's upcoming album, and then "I Can't Live" was born. Defining the song as one about struggle, Justin says it's about two people who can't live without one another. He states, "it's actually a beautiful problem to have." Justin also provides the vocals on this demo, but is open to anyone singing the song. With its alt-rock feel and young love storyline, Justin thinks the track is a perfect fit for the "Twilight" sequel, "New Moon." Many people agree- since posting the video online, the song has received over 250,000 views and hundreds of comments.

These days, Justin Guarini is busy hosting "Idol Tonight" and "Idol Wrap" with Kimberly Caldwell. He said it's so much fun working with Kim, and that they have a brother-sister relationship. They like to make fun of each other, but they always have each other's back. When asked what the most surprising moment of this season was, Justin said he was shocked at how early Alexis Grace left the show. Justin thinks it's more difficult to be a contestant in 2009 than 2002. During his inaugural season, everyone was flying by the seat of their pants, and no one really knew how big the show was. Now, contestants are given an extreme amount of work, however the process is a well-oiled machine. Justin says he's grateful to be a part of the season that started it all.

The multi-talented Guarini says that music is the path he sees himself continuing down, whether it is writing, singing, or performing. Secondly, he loves hosting and it's something that comes naturally to him. Also, Justin is working on a webisode series this summer that will be a variety show that he stars in.

Justin says he feels fortunate to be a working entertainer. He describes his path in this industry as a roller coaster ride, but he's always been working on something. Lastly, Justin wants to say thanks to everyone who made the song "I Can't Live" a success online.
