Daughtry Releases New Album

Share

Daughtry, the popular rock band fronted by AMERICAN IDOL® Season 5's Chris Daughtry, released their fourth studio album yesterday. The album, titled Baptized, went straight to #1 on the iTunes Rock Albums chart. To celebrate the release of their new album, Daughtry performed their new songs, "Waiting For Superman" and "Battleships," on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Talk, and LIVE! With Kelly & Michael.

Baptized has a slightly different sound than Daughtry's first three albums. Chris told The Hollywood Reporter, “I love a big guitar as much as the next guy and I did three records that were very much in that realm. I just felt like it was time to shake it up a little bit.”

Daughtry took to Twitter yesterday to thank his loyal fans and said, “I poured my heart, soul, and life experiences into this album and I'm so proud and honored to share it with you. #BAPTIZED.”

Celebs and IDOL™ alumni tweeted congratulatory messages to the band, including Season 10's James Durbin who said, “Huge congrats to @CHRIS_Daughtry on the successful release of his killer new record #Baptized!! It's a great listen. Awesome work man!!”

East coast fans can catch Daughtry at The Paramount in Huntington, NY on December 9, and at Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, NJ on December 16.
