Atlanta Auditions

Atlanta is the capital of Georgia and the most populated city in the southern state. Atlanta has a population of 432, 427 and entire Atlanta metropolitan area houses 5, 457, 427 people. This makes the Atlanta area the ninth largest is the United States.

Atlanta was established in 1837 where two railroad lines met. The city grew quickly and by 1860 Atlanta's population had grown to 9, 554 people. Atlanta played an integral part during the Civil War as it was the nexus of many railroads and was used for the distribution of military supplies to the Confederate Army. Atlanta and the surrounding area were home to many Civil War battles, the most devastating being the Battle of Atlanta which lasted four months and led to the city being burned. Only the city's churches and hospitals were spared. Atlanta was gradually rebuilt after the burning and became a organizing center of the Civil Rights Movement under Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Ralph David Abernathy.
