Question: What are you hoping to get out of your Idol experience? Answer: I'm hoping I can achieve success and achieve the goals I have set for me to accomplish. To have a career in the music industry would be the ultimate goal for me.
Question: What have you learned about yourself by going through the Idol audition process? Answer: I've learned that I can put up with a lot of stuff. They throw a lot of curve balls at you, and sometimes you just have to go with it.
Question: What’s been the most surprising part of the Idol experience so far? Answer: Making it this far. Never in my wildest dreams would I have realistically thought I would have made it this far.
Question: Do you have a favorite quote, phrase or personal motto / words to live by? Answer: Phillipians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me"
Question: Who is the person that you would most like to meet? Answer: Carrie Underwood to talke to her about her journey on Idol and pick her brain.
Question: If you have 24 hours to do anything you wanted, what would you do? Answer: The stuff I'd like to do would take longer than 24 hours.
Question: What would people be surprised to learn about you? Answer: I'm an honor roll student? I don't know. I'm not a very surprising person.
Question: What’s your proudest moment in life outside of American Idol? Answer: Letting Christ into my life.
Question: What’s the most embarrassing thing you’ve ever seen or experienced?? Answer: Back in the day when my voice was still changing I cracked on stage. That was a terrible feeling.
Question: How would you define success in life? Answer: Achieving the goals you set for yourself.
Question: What has been the most unique job/chore you’ve ever had? Answer: Re-roofing a house in Nashville. I loved it, I just wish I had a different job in Nashville.
Question: If you couldn’t sing, what other talent would you most like to have? Answer: I would like to be abnormally smart. Smart enough to be an astronaut.
Question: If you could model your career after an artist, who would it be and why? Answer: Probably Carrie Underwood because we are getting started on the same platform and she has had incredible success after this show.
Question: How do you plan on differentiating yourself in the competition? Answer: I think my deep voice is different in itself. But I just want to stay within my genre and stay away from the Pop and R&B side of Idol everyone is used to.
Question: How do you combat stage fright? Answer: I try not to think about it.
Question: What makes a great performer? Answer: Somebody that can connect to the audience.
Question: What’s your dream song to perform? Answer: ""Long Black Train" by Josh Turner"
Question: What theme week would you love to have for Season 10? Answer: Garth Brooks Night. Garth has had a lot of #1 hits, and Garth's songs also crossed over to the mainstream charts too.
Question: Which theme week would be most challenging to you and why? Answer: Queen Night. I can't imagine me singing something Bohemian Rhapsody.
Question: What do you do to unwind after a performance? Answer: Sit on the couch and watch SportsCenter.
Question: If you could perform with any person or group, who would it be and why? Answer: Josh Turner, Randy Travis, or George Strait. All of these men "are" country music and they've shaped it into what it is today.
Question: What album would your friends be surprised you own? Answer: Jackson 5 Greatest Hits. And I listen to it all the time.
Question: Do you have any formal singing training? Answer: Yes, I'm a member of Garner High Die Miester singers. I have a wonderful choral director, Mrs. Meredith Clayton.
Question: How has music inspired you? Answer: Music has inspired me in my everyday life. There's a song for every situation you are in, and no matter how you feel, music is powerful and healing.
Question: If you could perform in any venue in the world, where would that be? Why? Answer: The Grand Ole Opry. Just to be able to sing on the stage where every great country music star has sang would be an honor.
Question: What was the first concert you attended? Answer: George Strait and Reba McEntire. The show was absolutely amazing. To see the King and Queen of Country Music for my first concert was really great.
Question: Who is your favorite female artist and why? Answer: Carrie Underwood. She sings great music, and music that I love to listen to. She also showed me that country music can be successful on this show.
Question: Who is your favorite male artist and why? Answer: Josh Turner. He sings real, genuine, country music. But also the way he lives his life as a strong Christian man.
Question: Who has influenced your personal musical style? Answer: A mix of older and newer country artists. Legends like Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Conway Twitty, and even Elvis. But then some like Tim McGraw, Toby Keith, Randy Travis, and definitely Josh Turner.
