Tuesday, June 30th Los Angeles - Rose Bowl
Nestled between beaches and mountains, Los Angeles has something for everyone. Los Angeles County is the most populated and one of the most diverse counties in the country and it is home to Hollywood, the "Entertainment Capital of the World." American Idol is taped live in Los Angeles, and it is the city where the Idol finalists reside while competing for the prize.
Auditions
Los Angeles registration for Season 9 auditions will take place on Sunday, June 28 and Monday, June 29, and auditions will take place on Tuesday, June 30. Both registration and auditions will occur at the Rose Bowl.

Transportation
The Rose Bowl is located in the city of Pasadena in Los Angeles County. If you're flying into Los Angeles, you can fly into Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), LA/Ontario International Airport, Long Beach Airport, or Bob Hope Airport in Burbank. Burbank is the closest airport to the Rose Bowl, but LAX is the biggest airport in Southern California. L.A. has an extensive bus, light rail, and subway system which you can use to get around town. In fact, the light rail Gold Line will get you close to the Rose Bowl. However, you may want to rent a car since Los Angeles County is so spread out. If you choose to rent a car, it is a good idea to keep some extra cash on you, since parking at some of the city's hot spots and venues can cost money.
Sightseeing
Los Angeles is known for its sunny skies and warm temperatures, so the beach is always an inexpensive and easy option for staying cool. Entertainment fans can head to Hollywood and travel by foot down the Hollywood Walk of Fame while scouring the sidewalk for their favorite stars' stars. The Los Angeles Dodgers have home games at Dodgers Stadium during L.A. auditions, so ball lovers may want to take in a game while sinking their teeth into a famous Dodger Dog (it's the name of the stadium's hot dog, not mascot!). Located next to the Rose Bowl is historic Old Town Pasadena. Walk around this town for great shopping, dining, and entertainment. No matter where you go or what you do, there are two things to keep in mind: wear sunscreen and be on the look out for celebrities.
