Two seasons ago, Adam Lambert and Allison Iraheta were discovered in San Francisco, so we'd be silly not to go back! San Francisco, California is the last stop on the Season 10 audition tour, so if you want to be on American Idol in 2011, this is your last chance! Since rock band Journey is from The City by the Bay, Randy Jackson will probably namedrop a bit. How many people will get golden tickets in the Golden State?

Transportation

If you're flying to San Francisco, you'll most likely fly into San Francisco International Airport (SFO), but Oakland International Airport (OAK) is another option. You can hop on Bay Area Rapid Transit, known as BART, from the airport, and it will take you most places you need to go - a game, the theater, and more. Muni Metro is the easiest way to get to AT&T Park, and you can catch it from BART's Embarcadero Station. Bring comfortable shoes because the hilly city can require a lot of walking. Traveling around SF wouldn't be complete without a trip on a cable car.

Sightseeing

San Francisco is a diverse city of people, food, and things to do. If you're sticking around AT&T Park four days before or four days after auditioning, check out a Giants Baseball game. Go to the Aquarium of the Bay to see what kind of local wildlife (sharks!) live under the Golden Gate Bridge and guard Alcatraz Island. Head to Fisherman's Wharf for some amazing chowder in authentic sourdough bread bowls, eclectic shops, and breathtaking scenery. The bay area has wonderful wine, artisanal cheeses, fresh local produce, and great seafood, so come hungry! The night before your Idol audition, the Top 10 Season 9 Idols will be performing on tour at Sacramento's ARCO Arena just an hour and a half away. If you don't mind auditioning on little sleep, you may want to warm up your vocal chords by singing along with the Top 10!
